General information for all events

Eligibility: Everyone is welcome. These events are open to all, regardless of age, sex, creed, race or nationality. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.  Pets on leashes are allowed, but pet droppings must be removed.

Disclaimer: The Colorado River Walkers and the other sponsors are not responsible for accidents, thefts, and/or material damage. Every effort will be made by the sponsors to make this a safe, enjoyable and memorable event.

Registration: There is no pre-registration for these events. All the start/finish locations are self-service. Except for the Georgetown start/finish, all are open every day of the year. For Georgetown, weekends and Holidays are dependent on volunteers, so call ahead to check at 512-863-5598. You may start any of the walks anytime between sunrise and three hours before sunset. Finish by dark.

Refreshments: All the Start/Finishes have restrooms. All the routes pass public buildings or parks where water and restrooms are available when open. There are restaurants on or near each of the routes. On hot days it is advisable to carry water.

Event Conditions: Caution is advised when crossing city streets. These events take place regardless of the weather, but are only to be done during daylight hours. There will be no refunds.

IVV Credit: These events are sanctioned by the American Volkssport Association (AVA), a member of the International Volkssport Verband (IVV) and counts toward acquisition of IVV Achievement Awards. Please remember to bring your IVV books as books are not available at the start locations. If you forgot your books, insert cards are available. Everyone must register and carry a start card on the route.  You may do the events for an award, credit only, or for no credit.

Awards:  An "A" award is available for the Georgetown walk only.  "B" awards are available for all of the walks.  The choices of "B" awards available are shown inside the front of the sign-in logbook.
